Burger|Beef Burger|Perfect Burger
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef, ground
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp onion, chopped and cooked soft
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
- 1/2 ketchup
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
Directions
STEP 1
Beat egg, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper in a bowl.
STEP 2
Add ground beef to the mixture. Mix with your hands until well mixed. Add onion, fresh coriander and mix well till incorporated. Form into six burgers.
STEP 3
Preheat a grill pan or grill griddle.
STEP 4
On medium heat, place grilling burgers in a prepared pan along with some oil added. Cook until brown on all sides, 5 to 7 minutes. Turn burgers and cook for 5 more minutes till done.
STEP 5
Meanwhile, heat ketchup and maple syrup in a bowl and whisk to combine well.
STEP 6
Remove the burgers from the pan and transfer to a paper towel. Let rest 1 minute.
STEP 7
Spread the cut side of the buns with the butter and toast the buns on a grill or pan until golden brown.
STEP 8
Spread ketchup and maple syrup and sour cream (optional) on the buns and spread lettuce leaves over one slice of the toasted buns and place the burger on top along with tomato, cucumber and onion slices. Add some pickles of your choice, (like jalapeño, wild cucumber).
STEP 9
Set the bun top and serve!
STEP 10
Sour Cream
In a food processor, add 1 pint sour cream with 2 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp salt and a few drops of water, and working carefully to blend until thicken. Stir in a few drops of water if needed.
