Hash Browns
This easy breakfast is made with pantry staples and its ready in simple steps!
Ingredients
- 4 russet potatoes, grated
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter/virgin oil
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 pinch black seed
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Directions
STEP 1
Wash the potatoes and peel them off well. Shred the potatoes with a grater or in a food processor with its grater attachment.
STEP 2
Rinse the shredded potatoes until water is clear and squeeze dry.
STEP 3
Transfer them to a large mixing bowl and mix in the egg and toss with salt, black pepper, black seed and garlic powder and make sure the seasonings are evenly distributed.
STEP 4
Heat butter in a large skillet on medium heat and take out the potato mixture and make a Pattie shape and spread the potatoes over the skillet in even layer with the help of a spatula and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
STEP 5
Cook till they turn to brown and flip over and cook the other side in a same way by breaking up potatoes turning occasionally with spatula.
STEP 6
Keep on adding little butter if required when potatoes are sticking to the pan and cook till they’re crispy enough. Meanwhile, line a plate with a couple of layers of paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
STEP 7
Remove from pan and drain on paper towels and serve hot immediately with bacon and eggs!
