Kulfi
Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk powder/khoya
- 2 slices of bread
- 2-3 cardamom
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts, chopped (almonds, pistachios)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Directions
STEP 1
In a pan, pour the milk and heat over a medium heat.
STEP 2
When the milk warms add milk powder and bring it to boil. Now, reduce the heat to low and let the milk cook for 20 minutes over a low heat. Keep stirring in between to avoid the milk stick to the pan.
STEP 3
After the milk gets thicker, add the bread crumbs and keep on stirring for 5 minutes ill they dissolve well into the milk.
STEP 4
Now, add cardamom along with a sugar and cook till the sugar dissolves.
STEP 5
Stir in the chopped nuts into the milk and cook for 1 minute.
STEP 6
Add heavy cream and cook on a very low heat and simmer for additional 5 minutes.
STEP 5
Remove from heat and cool down the mixture.
STEP 6
Once the mixture has been cooled down completely, pour the prepared kulfi into the silicone molds and put it in the freezer for 6-8 hours.
STEP 7
Take out the mold and place under the warm running water for few seconds and tap so that the kulfi comes out easily.
STEP 8
Slice the kulfi into squares and garnish with the nuts and serve and enjoy!
