27 Aug Chicken Lasagna
Eating is not Cheating!
I believe mindset is really important when it comes to food and nourishing our bodies.
There are certain foods that we should eat more often than others like plant foods. And yes, there are foods we should eat less than others like processed foods.
I allow myself to eat lasagna–with zero guilt! I don’t have it all the time. I also love to make it at home with veggie toppings like this one and I love it !
I would love to know what your favorite meal is.
- 8-10 lasagna sheets
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1kg chopped chicken boneless
- 3 chopped capsicum
- 3 chopped onions
- 4-5 chopped cloves of garlic
- 2 tomatoes (grated)
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red chilies
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
Preheat the oven to 180°.
Heat oil in a pan over a medium heat and add chopped garlic and saute for a minute.
Now, add the chopped onions and cook for till turn to light brown.
Add the chopped chicken and cook till it changes its color.
Combine the grated tomatoes and ketchup and stir well for 2 minutes.
Sprinkle salt, black pepper, crushed red chilies and cook for additional 2 minutes.
Place the chopped capsicum and add a little amount of water and let it cook for 4-5 minutes over high heat till cooked. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool down.
Place the saucepan over low heat and melt down the butter.
Add all purpose flour gradually and keep on stirring till it get dissolved.
Now, add milk and keep on stirring and add white pepper.
Add some water if required to make it less thick.
Grease the baking pan with some oil and put some white sauce and then a layer of lasagna sheets and spread the chicken mixture and cheese and repeat the same two more times and sprinkle some oregano over the top and put in an oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
