Building on my successful vegetable cutlets!
They are quick and easy to make.

Potato Cutlets


You just need boiled potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, spring onions, fresh coriander and a few basic spices to make them at home!

Ingredients

  • 4-5 large potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp black seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1/4 cup spring onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • oil for frying

Directions

STEP 1
Place unpeeled potatoes in a large pan and bring to boil over a high heat. Cook until potatoes are soft.

STEP 2
Remove from the heat and drain and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Peel the potatoes and transfer them to a mixing bowl.

STEP 3
Using a fork, mash the potatoes well.

STEP 4
Add salt, black pepper, red chili powder, black seeds, coriander seeds and mix well with your hands.

STEP 5
Mix in spring onions and fresh coriander until well combined.

STEP 6
Take out round balls and shape them flat to 1 inch thick.

STEP 7
Heat oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Dip the potato cutlets in egg to coat well and slightly coat in the bread crumbs.

STEP 8
Place the potato cutlets in frying pan and cook until well browned. Flip the cutlets after 2-3 minutes and cook till brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and oil.

STEP 9
Remove from heat transfer them to a serving plate.

STEP 10
Serve hot with sauce of your choice.
