Beef Handi/Beef Curry
Beef Handi/Beef Curry is one of the famous dish in Pakistan. Red meat is the most nutrient food one can eat. Beef is a rich source of protein, iron and calcium.
Fragrant spices and tender meat can be on the table in less than hour. This is one of the delicious recipe which will make you mop your plate clean in minutes!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
- 1/2 kg beef boneless, small chunks
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tomatoes, skinless and chopped
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp black seed
- 1/2 tsp cumin, roasted and crushed
- 1/2 tsp coriander, crushed
- 1/4 tsp shan Tikka Masala (optional)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup cream
- 1/4 tsp fresh garam masala
- 1 inch ginger juliene
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
Directions
STEP 1
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add sliced onion and cook till it turns to light brown in color.
STEP 2
Now add ginger and garlic paste and cook for 1 minute. Add a splash of water so the ginger and garlic paste will not stick to the pan.
STEP 3
In the meanwhile, add beef boneless and cook for 3 -4 minutes till it changes its color and water is reduced on high heat
STEP 4
When oil gets separate, add spices like salt, chili flakes, turmeric and mix well.
STEP 5
Add tomatoes and combine well and when oil separates, add water and cook for 30 minutes on low to medium heat and cover the pan. (you can steam the beef in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes).
STEP 6
After 30 minutes, turn on high heat and add the beaten yogurt and combine well. Cook till the oil separated completely and water is reduced.
STEP 7
At this time, you can add black pepper, black seed, cumin, coriander and Shan Tikka Masala and mix well.
STEP 8
In the end, add lemon juice and cook for a while.
STEP 9
Add the cream and mix until well incorporated and cooked through. Finish off with fresh garam masala, ginger, green chili and fresh coriander for additional heat.
STEP 10
Serve hot over your choice of roti/nan or rice and enjoy!
