In a pan, add 1 cup water , 1 onion, 2 tomatoes, 6 cloves of garlic, 1 piece of ginger, salt, chilies, turmeric. Cover and cook for 6-7 minutes and chop well
In another pan, add 1/2 cup oil and heat.
Add cumin, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, 8-9 red whole chilies and cook.
Add the kaddu/pumpkin and cook for 4-5 minutes on a medium heat.
Add the paste and 3-4 tablespoon of yogurt and cook.
Cook till the water dries out.
Add the boiled chana dal and cook and add 2 1/2 cups of water and cover and cook for 20-25 minutes.
Garnish with green chilies.
