04 Sep Mutton Pulao
1/2 kg mutton
1/2 tsp turmeric
4 cloves of garlic
1 cup rice
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
5-6 black peppercorns
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
Boil mutton with onion, turmeric, cloves of garlic, water and cook till the mutton become tender.
Strain the soup and put aside the mutton.
In oil, add onions and cook till they turn to brown.
Add ginger and garlic paste and cook it for a while.
Now add salt, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon and a bay leaf.
Now add tomatoes and cook till it leaves the oil.
Add mutton and cook for 5 minutes.
Add 1 ½ cups of the strained soup (and more water if needed to make it 1 ½ cups) and boil.
When it starts boiling, add rice and cook on a medium to high flame till the water dries out.
Now put mutton pulao on simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Serve them with raita and salad.
