Ingredients
- 2 cups hazelnuts
- 1/4 cup butter/coconut oil, melted
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions
STEP 1
Roast hazelnuts in a small non-stick pan over a medium heat, tossing occasionally, until aromatic, approximately 5 minutes. Do not allow them to burn. Let hazelnuts cool completely and set aside.
STEP 2
When cooled, gently scrub the hazelnuts so the skin comes off.
STEP 3
Place the roasted hazelnuts in an electric mixer or food processor and blend until smooth paste for 5-6 minutes on a low speed. Scrape the sides of the processor.
STEP 4
While the processor/electric mixer is running, gradually drizzle coconut oil/melted butter to make it creamy.
STEP 5
Now, add cocoa powder, brown sugar and vanilla and salt and combine till well incorporated.
STEP 6
Transfer to an air tight jar and store at room temperature for 3 weeks.
Notes
- You can add honey/maple syrup if nutella is not according to your sugar taste.
