French Toast Twist Cake

French Toast Twist Cake
Ingredients
- 12 bread slices
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- Topping
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp sugar
- For frosting
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp butter, melted
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 180 °. Grease the baking bowl with butter well and set aside.
STEP 2
Trim the edges of the bread slices and lay them on the counter or on a huge tray. Combine the edges of the slices 4 in a row. Make them flat by the help of a rolling pin.
STEP 3
Heat butter over a very low heat to melt it down.
STEP 4
Spread the butter over the bread slices.
STEP 5
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
STEP 6
Sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture over the butter and slice the layers in rows with the help of a cutter.
STEP 7
Roll the bread slices layers and combine the ends in a way to make a huge giant roll and place it in a baking bowl. and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool on a wire rack.
STEP 8
Using and offset spatula, take out the cake from the baking bowl, and drape into a serving plate.
For The Topping
STEP 1
In the meanwhile, place eggs in a mixing bowl and beat well.
STEP 2
Pour the cream over the eggs and add milk and vanilla and whisk well.
STEP 3
Pour the cream topping all over the cake and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool on a wire rack.
STEP 4
Using and offset spatula, carefully take out the cake from the baking bowl, and drape into a serving plate and chill for 1 hour.
For The Frosting
STEP 1
Combine icing sugar, melted butter in a bowl and whisk well with an electric mixer for 2 minutes until light and creamy in color.
STEP 2
Mix in milk and vanilla and stir until well combined.
STEP 3
Spread the mixture over the cake and top with chocolate shaving, cocoa powder or cherries (toppings of your choice0 and place in the refrigerator for 1 or 2 more hours.
STEP 4
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.
