I’ve always loved chocolate cake. In my childhood, my eldest sister used to make chocolate cake and we ate it as dessert on the holiday table.
For some of you, you may just stop at eating frosting. No judgement here!

Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
CAKE 3 cups all-purpose flour 3 cups sugar 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder 1 tbsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 4 eggs 1 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 1/2 cup hot water 1/2 cup oil FROSTING 1 1/2 cup chocolate cream cheese/butter cheese 1 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1 tbsp milk (1 cup) 8 cups confectioner sugar
Directions
STEP 1: Dry mix
Mix the following ingredients with a whisk:
- all-purpose flour
- sugar
- cocoa powder
- baking soda
- salt
- baking powder
STEP 2: Wet mix
Now add the following
- eggs
- butter milk
- hot water
- vegetable oil
STEP 3: Baking
Bake the cake batter from steps 1 and 2 in 3 different pans for 30-35 minutes.
STEP 4:Frosting
Mix the following
- chocolate cream cheese/ butter cheese
- cocoa powder
- milk
- sugar
STEP 5
Make layers with the cake and the frosting.

Buttermilk is required for this recipe. You can make your own buttermilk if needed. (Add vinegar in 1/4 cup of whole milk. Stir it and wait for 5 minutes until it reaches 1/2 cup). The buttermilk is ready to be used in the recipe.
