Apricot Chutney

Apricot Chutney


  • 1 cup Dried apricots
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Raisins
  • 1 tablespoon melon seeds (aka maghaz) seeds
  • Vinegar
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • 6 Almonds
  • 1 table spoon cornflour

Step 1.

soak 1 cup dried apricot in water overnight.

Step 2.

Strain the apricot and boil the filtered apricot water.

Step 3.

Add salt, 1 cup sugar and baking powder and cook on a low heat.Cook till it becomes thick and half of the water is left.

Step 4.

Add raisins, melon seeds, food color(optional) and cook for 2 mins.

Step 5.

Add vinegar and cinnamon stick and cook till it becomes thick.

Step 6.

Add the almonds and take out the cinnamon stick.

Step 7.

Add cornflour paste and cook for 1 minute and make it cool.
