Hot and sour chicken soup is a very tasty and spicy Chinese dish that combines the different flavors of chicken, spring onions, vinegar and soy sauce to create a wonderfully spicy and tart dish.
In addition, it can be made with a thick sauce or watered down depending on the occasion. If you’ve had hot and sour chicken soup, you know that it’s thick. To get this, we add a slurry (a solution of part water, part starch) and apply heat. Bam. Thickened broth.
My First Experience
The first time I tried this particular dish I loved it so much that I ordered extra and then took it home to go. I could not have enough of it.
Furthermore, the following recipe is my own twist on the classic sweet and sour chicken. Depending on your tastes, you can add pineapple, bell peppers, bananas, corn, cabbage and carrots.
We love hot and sour soup, but, there are so many other innovative ways to make this soup. This recipe features the produce combined with cabbage, capsicum and carrots.It might take you even the less time to enjoy the whole bowl. In the second place, it is dairy- free and low carb!

My husband always says that this is a fantastic dish. We finish the whole pot in one sitting. It also goes along well with rice and noodles.

Ingredients
Dumplings
1 cup chicken boneless chopped
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cornflour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
2 Tsp soya sauce
1-2 eggs
1 tsp white pepper
Directions
- In a bowl, put chicken boneless, flour, cornflour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, soya sauce, eggs and white pepper.
- Make dumplings out and deep fry them.
- Add the baking powder at the time of frying.
Hot and sour chicken soup
1 onion capped
2 capsicum(cubes)
1/4 cup cabbage
1 carrot ( boiled)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp vinegar
2 tsp oil
2 tsp cornflour
Directions
- Sauté all the vegetables and add the above dumplings.

- sugar
- Make a paste of vinegar and cornflour in water.
- Now add this paste in the above mixture and serve it hot.
